Mobile Weather Alerts project - Uganda pilot

The Mobile Weather Alerts project aims to provide weather warnings by text messaging to farmers on Lake Victoria. Every year, an estimated 5'000 fishermen die as their boats capsize due to strong winds and waves. The pilot project has started in Uganda in cooperation with our partners Ericsson, National Lake Rescue Institute, MTN and Uganda Department of Meteorology.
